Club Oceano Apartments a good little place to stay, especially if you're into the family atmosphere (my kids are too old to come on hols with me now, so it's wasted on me a bit). Friendly British staff and efficient maid service, although everything is extra to the apartment cost: safe, TV, internet. The location and basic layout are good but the interiors of the apartments are just a bit tired now so it needs an update (kitchen, bathroom, beds, decor, furniture, etc) but it is good value.

Spent 2 weeks there, then on to
Harbour Lights 2 in the old town of Puerto del Carmen. What can I say? The apartments are great: all brand new, lovely kitchen and bathroom, large bedrooms, new IKEA furniture throughout, flat screen TV and DVD player, harbour / sea views... Highly recommended. Shouldn't complain, but they just have to know that brand new towels don't dry you properly til they've been washed! Oh yes, and bring your own tea towel for drying up (if you're bothered about eating in, anyway). Great views, including the fireworks on New Year's night.
Met Heike from LTN at Ruta66 on 2nd Jan. She's great and you must meet her if you haven't already.
Flight cancelled on Weds 6th (snow at Gatwick), so still here for another 3 days (lucky!?), but made the mistake of booking into Costa Volcan Aparthotel as it was cheap and I needed internet access for my work (sad, I know...). What a dump! Staff helpful, and very central, but it hasn't been updated since Cesar Manrique's heyday. Watch out for the little thunderbugs in the kitchen which suddenly appear in droves within 2 seconds of any food put on the table... Oh, and the wi-fi internet doesn't work most of the time anyway!!!
So, all in all a really nice long stay (longer than expected), with great weather except for the first few days of rain, and looking forward to coming back again soon.
Happy New Year again to all and would love to hear from anyone else in the network (it's all a bit quiet on this site, or is it me...?).
