Me and my wife came across to our favorite island as we have done for the past ten years, for a week of sun sea and relaxation only to have it ruined three days in by the news of an attempted break in on our house back home as this hadn't ruined it…

Hiya Vinnie unfortunatly we have had to postpone our hols now with the collapse of xl, hoping to go novenber now instead of october. Costa Teguise was an excellent place to stay, not too rowdy for my daughter who is almost 4 but livley enough to have good night out. Everyone is so friendly there we are gutted we cant go in 4 weeks but hope to go soon.

Mmmmmmmm.... sweet chilli sauce - sound lovely!

Ok recipe.... here's one.

gently fry a crushed clove of garlic and half a small onion in a small amount of olive oil. Add some finely chopped chillies - DON'T let it burn. Then pour in a small glass of orange juice and a small glass of stock (whatever flavour you fancy).

Boil it vigorously for a couple of minutes then pour it over chicken, fish, rice, or whatever you like!

Blimmin lovely!

No, we don't have a massive garden, but we do have a couple of areas perfect for growing stuff. Good luck with your chillies!

Yes, we love our spicy food. Hubby makes a cracking chilli! When you move over, bring some packet seeds of chillies with you.
We planted some last year, and had a bumper crop - it's well worth it. We've also got tomato plants on the go now too - which are shooting up.
I don't loiter around this site all the time... but an alert landing in my email let's me know if someone's left a message... so I always pop in then.
I work from home as we run our own business... so I'm generally online for most of the day. I really should get out more :o)
Ah well, the weekend is coming isn't it?

Hi.
Bet you were glad to get to UK ! (not). We are not moving out yet as we have jobs, family etc but hope to do so in the future. I take it you have no ties here then? Anyway we will keep in touch and let you know how we get on with the legal stuff.

Ah chillies... yes! You can get guindillas here which are great sliced into a salada, but they're not very hot. People have brought over crushed chillies for us, plus we have a big jar of dried Thai chillies which are lasting really well (red hot!). And 2 weeks ago, we started growing our own... they're doing great!
Nope - no banana milkshake here (well, apart from the 4 boxes now in my cupboard). I can'r drink the milk here... so the Nesquik ensures I still get the minerals etc. The strawberry flavoured Kaba is quite nice too.

PS: No rain in Playa Blanca - it's a scorcher out there!

Hi Vinnie.
Thanks for the reply. When you off to Lanza again? We are flying out 25th August to finalise the purchase of our apartment in Matagorda got to do all the legal stuff etc. So excited now!

Hi Vinnie - glad you like the island. Go for that move! But do plenty of research first. We set up a non commercial blog that you may find useful www.lanzarote-relocation.co.uk (yes Rafa - we've put a link to this site on there, mi dulce).

Do I miss anything? Very very little. I get cravings for the weirdest things... like Banana Nesquik - but friends bring it over. I've been back to the UK twice in 2 years, and I'm ready for another quick trip towards the end of this year... but I know once I get there I'll be pining for home again.
We just love this Island, and all it has to offer. I just wish my command of the Spanish lingo was better. I can get by, but I do beat myself up about it.
