The patron saint of Arrecife. A ten day celebration with a large fairground, concerts and fireworks on the last night. The 25th is usually the last day: the actual day of San Ginés (Every year 3rd week in August).

I´m afraid August is a bit to soon for me, I´m planning to go in September for the Los Dolores festival. Although the Lanzaroteños try to keep it a secret and for themselves (no advertisements), more and more tourists know about it. My pictures of the romeria (pilgrimage in costume) is part of it.

You could add your holiday as an event, so when there are more members on Lanzarote at the same time, you could meet up (just pick a date and agree to meet one night in a bar. Also check the LTN during your holiday.)

If you go to the San Gines festival, be prepared to see an actual traffic jam when you go into Arrecife. Note it´s even worse when you try to leave at night after the festivities have stopped! Tip: have your own transport or take a taxi.
I was there a couple of years ago: a real winner!
