just back from PDC couple of weeks ago . I paid tropical a visit it has been reopened and had a bit of a refit but, unfortunately was not very busy even late at night ! However cocktails were still brill ! Also went to Paradise Beach Club Disco which has also recently reopened and had a refit ,you can now sit in the speedboat which used to be the DJ booth , and take photos etc.
Another new place of a different kind is a huge Fund Grube department store nextdoor to ruta 66 , a very bright and airy shop selling perfumes ,clothes and gifts etc. Well worth a visit as prices very reasonable .

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to clear some confusion up regarding Tropical Bar in PDC.
Tropical has recently undergone a refit with new windows being put in on the open seating area out the front so it can now be enclosed and a new entrance being made, however I can also advise that Tropical did close on Fri 26th Feb due to problems with their licence, as far as i know it is still closed although they were saying it wont be a permanent closure and will be back up and running once licence problems are sorted, when this will be i do not know but will post an update as soon as i hear!!! If anyone knows anything different or can get an update please do add a comment to this so all us Tropical lovers (or Cocktail lovers!!) can be kept up to date :0) many thanks Claire

Regarding the Dolce vita due restaurant ,spoke to Ramone (he used to be head waiter of Dolce vita due) in august & he said that the owners were going to combine it with the place next door (la asadore) and make one big restaurant ,maybe by spring 2010. Ramone is now working at puerto viejo.(under dolce vita due & owned by the same people)

Hi everyone
Back in the UK now (its cold!!!!!) after a great time in PDC soaking up the sun. Fireworks from the San Antonio were good--- waste of time staying up until two for the fireworks down in PDC with no street entertainment and a poor show of fireworkes compared with those at San Antonio

went to the Costa Luz Centro a couple of evenings looking for any one from here and up to Heike's bar but closed so went down to Groucho's bar
never mind perhaps next time

Any one know if dolce vita restaurant in the harbour of the old town has closed down or will it be open for christmass, been hearing rumours that the whole place is clossing for one reason or another, mainl because of the lack of tourists, arriving on the 24th december.
