Is this for Real ???
Yes - this is a computer enhanced photo projection design plan
( The same persons that designed the Puerto del Carmen avenida development ? )

They say they will add 2 more roundabouts

Where do Lanzarote Tourist Network members think this photo of the new roundabout will be ?
I cannot work out the area

Any suggestions ??
Surely it cannot be the Roundabout of Cezar Manrique ???

Oh !

I Drove through the old road and witnessed a bulldozer demolising a building !
The building did have sprayed in Spanish - No Road -Stop the Road
Really upsetting
IA lot of Canarian villagers are loosing chunks of land or buildings for this.
A lot will have lovely family village homes - suddenley right next to a 4 lane motorway
I hope it will all be worth it

I dont realy understand i thougt the old road was good .I just hope they don't build motorways all over Lanzarote.

We ALL thought the old Road was good enough !!!!!!
Especially through the Lovely Canarian Village of Tahiche.

If the Locals cannot win a fight on their Island, who can ???

This major works does not effect us.
We are situated on the outskirts of the village in zona rustica.
But ... I SO feel for the owners in the Village.

Tahiche the Home of Cezar Manique.
The artist, protector and lover of the natural beauty of the Island of Lanzarote.
He died meters from his home, in a car accident on the now Tahiche Roundabout.
I am sure the finished product will be large, shiny and moden. To the detrement of villagers that have enjoyed their Lanzarote homes before tourists arrived.
This inland village is not Puerto del Carmen, not Costa Teguise and certainly not Palaya Blanca

If it is possible that Cezar Manrique can see the plans, the immense destruction of a village - just for a road
I believe the next time it rains, it will be the tears of Cezar Manrique
You read it here first. I just thought of it as I write ....

I feel for you and the villagers and I think your similarity to Cezar Manrique is most appropriate
I know I'm guilty of being a tourist but it was the old Lanzarote, the one Cezar Manrique had the vision for, is the one I like!!!
